Welcome to the TBAYS Soccer.

The TBAYS Soccer Club is comprised of three different groups.  TBAYS Juniors players (U4-U7) are grouped together by school and school grade.  Older players are grouped to create evenly skilled teams.  Age group designations are, for example, U12B for a boy’s 12-and-under team, or U19G for a team of girls up through 19 years of age. Birth dates for determining a player's age group are August 1 through July 31. For example, the 2004-05 season (beginning August 1,2004), the oldest 11-year-old player was born on August 1,1993, and anyone born on or before that date can play on a U-11 team.

For more complete descriptions of each program:

Currently TBAYS has over 1400 families.  TBAYS began as a single team (the Hawks, U12B) in the spring of 1988. This team was organized by Fred Haines (TBAYS past President) and coached by Darrell Rogers (past Director of Coaches). The Hawks were the first Traverse City youth soccer team to participate in sanctioned down state tournaments, and met with surprising success.

TBAYS has grown dramatically since then, and has become the preferred soccer program for Traverse City youth ages 4 and up.

TBAYS is a member league of the Michigan State Youth Soccer Association. MSYSA is a branch of the USYSA, which oversees much of the youth soccer in the United States (including Olympic Development programs). Membership in MSYSA allows TBAYS teams to compete in and to host sanctioned tournaments, provides training for coaches and referees, and gives insurance protection for coaches and players.  Like the "Y,' and other high integrity youth programs, TBAYS maintains firm standards of behavior and sportsmanship for its players and coaches, all of whom are governed by a strict code of conduct.
